FlySmoother is a premium membership-based travel agency.

FlySmoother came to ODW with a flourishing luxury travel planning business. They were outgrowing their existing brand and needed design and development support to scale their operations and marketing. ODW redesigned their brand, built a new website, and is still working with FlySmoother on their new travel tech SaaS startup: Build Travel with a planned launch in 2025.

Osborn Design Works partnered with the FlySmoother team to design their brand, website, and proprietary booking software.

The goal was to develop a sophisticated and tech-forward brand that would match the expectations of current high-end traveler clientele, and would position FlySmoother for growth as a technology service provider.

We started by refining the name, conducting domain name research, selecting an elegant color palette, creating a distinctive logotype, and designing a memorable logo mark.

Engaging Hero Section: A captivating headline "Where unimaginably perfect moments await" paired with high-quality travel imagery to immediately set the tone.

Once flysmoother.com was designed, developed, and launched, ODW was invited to redesign the proprietary travel planning software the team used, and help bring it to market as a SaaS product.

Build Travel gives leverage to travel agents with a variety of powerful, full-service travel planning functions:

  1. Complex Data Integration:
    Build Travel leverages the long-standing Sabre API to fetch real-time data for flights and hotels. Leveraging this efficiently presented significant technical challenges and is now a product differentiator.
  2. User Experience:
    We needed a seamless and intuitive user interface that could handle complex functionalities like multi-destination trip planning and real-time adjustments.
  3. Power Features:
    Experienced travel planners all have myriads of individualized solutions to common problems. In order to create value, Build Travel had to be fast, and easy to pick up, to win with uniform solutions.

ODW project goals:

Our design process

  1. Research and Strategy
    ODW conducted comprehensive market research, leveraging FlySmoother's industry expertise, to gain deep insights into the luxury travel sector. This collaborative approach allowed us to understand the unique needs, preferences, and behaviors of high-end travelers and travel advisors, informing both our branding decisions and product design strategy.
  2. Branding
    The branding process focused on creating a visual identity that communicated ease, efficiency, and professionalism. This included the logo, color scheme, typography, and other visual elements that are coherent across all digital platforms.
  3. UX/UI Design
    The ODW design team developed wireframes and prototypes for the website and the mobile app, focusing on user experience. Key features included a dashboard for managing bookings, an interactive calendar for trip planning, and a real-time pricing and availability checker.
