Taylor Osborn

Creative Director @ ODW

Hello, my name is Taylor.
I started Osborn Design Works in 2018. At the time I had just left a partnership track at an advertising agency in Manhattan (Lorelli Associates), and had my own ideas about how to run an agency.

Six years as an advertising art director taught me a crucial lesson: I didn't really believe in selling design, vision, or ad creative. I recognized that design matters—it's the substrate of ideas, and allows intangible 'things' to be discussed and shared.

But its value is also derivative from other business faculties all working in lockstep. I wanted ODW (Osborn Design Works), to do design work, but not to sell design. I hoped what we could sell was leverage.. if ODW worked, we would sell business value creation via practical design deliverables.

I think design stands out among most business functions due to its universality and immediate impact. Design has instant appraisal which has made it an easy product for consulting creatives to peddle, and a pivot point for businesses in a crisis— but ODW aims differently. We aim to deliver design that is integrated with the core of each business's value creation engine.

We leverage the fundamental design verticals— brand, visual, and UI/UX, to shape design deliverables that achieve our mission:

ODW uses design to create business value.

Thanks for reading.
